Electric Motors
by Bradley Voight on 07/03/12Electric motors are in every thing from fans to carpet cleaners and everywhere in between. You can sell the motors whole to the scrap yard or you can break them apart with minimal effort and extract the copper. Some motors have other valuable metals and parts such as cast aluminum and sealed bearings. I like to keep all the screws, nuts, and bolts and keep them in a jar for possible later use. I keep the bearings too even though I am not sure what I can use them for but hey, once I get enough of them I'll put them on Craig's list and see what happens. As I stated in an earlier blog copper is king in the scrapping world and it is everywhere!
