Indiana Needs Bottle Return Law
by Bradley Voight on 05/26/12You've seen bottles from Maine, Hawaii and other much cleaner states than Indiana. They say return for deposit, usually 5 cents. Those states recover 62% of their bottles (plastic and glass) compared to 12 % in states without such laws according to a WRTV channel 6 story. We need these laws in our state and Smalltime would like to spearhead the effort to get these laws on the books here.
Take it from a guy who loves to look in trash cans, 60% of the contents of an average Speedway gas station trash can is recyclable. So why are we still trashing perfectly reusable materials when we could be reducing landfill space dramatically by reclaiming what we toss.
I laugh when I hear... Go Green! ..... Everyone thinks somebody else is taking care of it and not a lot of folks are really doing much at all. Let's get serious about this issue and make some changes.
